INDY 500 CHAMPIONS

As a new partner of Team Penske, America’s most successful racing stable, OMP won the 2024 running of the Indianapolis 500 with Josef Newgarden.

2023

WORLD TITLE IN FORMULA E

Envision Racing wins an historic FIA Formula E Teams’ World Championship using the OMP racewear for its drivers.

ANOTHER BIG PARTNERSHIP

OMP becomes official partner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA, supplying safety gear for marshals, safety-car drivers, doctors, and all the on-track personnel.

2022

Valentino Rossi

MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi begins his full-time car racing career, using OMP racewear and Bell helmets through a multi-year partnership.

Still on top in the WRC

OMP supplies Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT for the third World Rally Championship Manufacturers’ title in five years, while Kalle Rovanpera becomes youngest ever WRC champion.

Racing Force Group

OMP e Bell Racing Helmets convergono nel nuovo Racing Force Group, insieme ai marchi emergenti Zeronoise e Racing Spirit.

OMP acquires Bell Racing Helmets, giving birth to the biggest worldwide player in motorsport safety equipment.

The Art revolution begins

OMP presents “One Art”, the first totally customized fire retardant suit. The Print Art technology guarantees complete control of the design process.

F1 domination with Mercedes

OMP harnesses are chosen by Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport Team, which extends its Formula 1 Manufacturers’ World Championships streak till the 2021 season.

A NEW ERA FOR KARTING

OMP marks a revolution into the karting industry. It creates the KS1 suit, the first ever to feature printed and customizable graphics, and the KS1-R, made of superlight fabric. At the same time, OMP signs a new partnership with OTK Group, the owner of the Tony Kart brand.

Winning era with Volkswagen

Volkswagen Motorsport opens a four-year WRC domination with Sebastien Ogier and OMP. It’s the first of many world titles for the HTE seat.

2013

OMP on the big screen

OMP provides the drivers’ overalls for award-winning “Rush” movie directed by Ron Howard, reproducing in detail the 1976 F1 season look.

TECH BENCHMARKS

OMP develops Cefal3, the world’s smallest and lightest electrically activated fire extinguisher and raises the bar of safety belts standards introducing the innovative Dyneema fiber.

2012

INDYCAR CHAMPION

OMP conquers the US celebrating its maiden IndyCar Series title with Andretti Autosport driver Ryan Hunter-Reay.

OMP becomes FIA official supplier

The quality standards set by OMP are recognized by the FIA, Federation Internationale de l’Automobile, through a partnership agreement to provide suits, boots, gloves and underwear for the race officials and the safety car drivers. The partnership is still ongoing.

2010

Formula 1 return

OMP returns to Formula 1, signing an agreement with Renault F1 Team to supply its first safety belts designed and built entirely by its R&D department.

A new ownership

In February the control of OMP is acquired by SAYE S.P.A. Group, held by Delprato brothers from Genova.

Maserati racing return

OMP supports the long-awaited Maserati racing return providing car components and racewear for the Trofeo one-make series.

WRC TITLES POKER WITH TOMMI MĂ„KINEN

OMP ends in style the 20th century, celebrating the fourth consecutive World Rally Championship title along with the Mitsubishi Ralliart team and Tommi Mäkinen.

THE BOND WITH MICHAEL SCHUMACHER

Michael Schumacher kicks off his Ferrari era choosing OMP overalls and gloves. It’s the start of a historic collaboration, sharing 71 wins and five F1 world titles.

THE LEGENDARY AYRTON SENNA

OMP supplies F1 star Ayrton Senna. The partnership will last until the death of the legendary Brazilian driver, with 20 race victories and two world F1 titles scored together.

FIRST WORLD TITLE FOR OMP

At Italy’s Rally Sanremo, OMP celebrates its first world title: Carlos Sainz, wearing the overalls made in Ronco Scrivia, is the new WRC king at the wheel of Toyota.

OMP GETS KNOWN WORLDWIDE

Gerhard Berger survives the flames of his Ferrari, after the crash during the F1 race at Imola. Credit goes to fireproof overalls and gloves made by OMP. Millions of people see those moments on live TV, and the company becomes popular all over the world.

MOVING TO RONCO SCRIVIA

OMP continues to expand its production, needing new and bigger headquarters. The company moves from Genova Bolzaneto to inland Liguria, in Ronco Scrivia, where it is still based today.

1986

FIRST TO ADHERE NEW STANDARDS

OMP is the world’s first company to obtain the new FIA ISO 86 homologation standards for fireproof racing suits.

NEW CHALLENGES

OMP diversifies its production, entering the racewear market. The company soon supplies its first Formula 1 driver: Mauro Baldi of Arrows team.
